Emerging Green Builders (EGB)

Mission:

To build a network of students and young professionals advocating environmental awareness and sustainable development in and around the Central Florida region, community & local building industry.

Events:

EGB Central FL sponsors holds monthly events, such as networking socials, industry discussions, and volunteering events. We also strive to partners with other like-minded organizations to increase awareness and encourage involvement.

Opportunities:

Students and young professionals will have the opportunity to attend networking, social, and educational events with other professional members in the sustainable design industry.

Design Competition

USGBC’s Natural Talent Design Competition provides applied learning experience in the principles of integrated design, sustainability, and innovation, all of which are components of the LEED® Green Building Rating System™. Participants compete in local competitions, and the top winner of each moves on to compete for a national award at USGBC’s annual Greenbuild International Conference & Expo.

The design location is set in post-Katrina New Orleans and the competition will feature a focus on LEED for Homes, affordable housing, universal design and modularity.

USGBC Central Florida Scholarship – Honorary David A. Gottfried

In support of the guiding principal of social equity in USGBC’s strategic plan, a $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to the student who, based on their completion of the scholarship application, has done the most for market transformation and stewardship in their school, community or career field.

The scholarship is available for students currently enrolled in the Central Fl. Please see the Education Page for more information.
