2010 Seminole Science Fair in the International Year of Biodiversity

The 2010 Seminole County Regional Science, Math & Engineering Fair was February 20 at Seminole Towne Center mall. Students from all middle and high schools in Seminole County were invited to participate; 300 students participated. Judged by science, math and engineering professionals from the Seminole County area, students were awarded medals for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place and ribbons for Honorable Mention based on the criteria of creativity, scientific method, thoroughness, skill and presentation. Teams were also judged on teamwork. Area businesses, organizations and individuals donated certificates, prizes, and cash awards in areas of their choice.
In addition to local medals and awards, the best projects go on to represent Seminole County in fairs at the Central Florida, State and International level.
