The Royal Manor Snags Aurora Award for Most Energy Efficient Home
August 22, 2009
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Royal Manor, a two-story, 4,147-square-foot, Mediterranean-style custom home won the 2009 Aurora Award for Energy Efficient Home at the Southeast Building Conference (SEBC) in Orlando.
Built by Royal Professional Builders, the custom home division of Royal Concrete Concepts (www.RoyalConcreteConcepts.com), a manufacturer of concrete modular building systems and pre-engineered walls and roof systems, the dwelling’s high-efficiency 14 SEER air conditioning unit isn’t its only energy-efficient feature. The Royall Wall System combines the strength of reinforced concrete – making it hurricane-resistant – with the insulating properties of polystyrene to boast an impressive insulation value of R-12.9.
Located in West Palm Beach, The Royal Manor’s most striking features are the exterior architectural concrete details and the cylindrical tower housing a spiral staircase at the front entrance. The home consists of five bedrooms, four-and-a-half baths and a two-car garage.
The award was announced on August 1. Royal Professional Builders has won six Aurora Awards in the past ten years.
The Aurora Award competition (www.TheAuroras.com), administered by the Florida Home Builders Association, is open to builders, architects, interior designers, landscape architects and other home-building professionals in a 12-state southeastern region plus the Caribbean who have demonstrated building and design excellence.
